EDUCATE PEOPLE

Hands-On Environmental Learning

ON THIS PAGE:

Education is at the heart of everything we do because lasting change starts with understanding. When people understand how healthy soil supports nutritious food, climate resilience, and community well-being, they can turn knowledge into action–caring for the planet and creating a more sustainable future together.

Earth Day

Each year, we partner with the City of Fremont and Washington Health to bring Fremont’s Earth Day Fair to life and educate the community about living a regenerative lifestyle. LEAF convenes partner organizations and volunteers to staff around 20 booths on composting, soil science, community art, pruning, bees, worms, and more.

Youth Education
and Events

We create tailor-made learning programs for young people that tie STEAM education to how food is grown and how regenerative agriculture supports both healthy soil and healthy communities. Interested in bringing your school or youth group to explore our Urban Gardens?

Activities may include beekeeping, Bumble Bee Atlas, a community-based science project, harvesting produce, then cooking a meal, doodle art, botanical illustration and journaling.

Student and

Scout Projects

We've worked with dozens of students and scouts on infrastructure projects, including shade structures, picnic tables, benches, planter cages, and murals. These projects enhance our farm while providing both students and scouts with valuable opportunities to develop leadership, project management, and practical, hands-on skills. Internships

Internships

We offer a range of internships in education, back-office, and farm management through collaborations with local colleges and community organizations. Interns support day-to-day farm operations, assist with educational programs in the gardens and get involved with running the organization. Want to intern with us?
