GROW AND
SHARE PRODUCE

From Our Gardens to Local Families

Why Regenerative Agriculture?

Regenerative Agriculture is a holistic way of land management that focuses on restoring soil health, supporting biodiversity, and building stronger, more resilient ecosystems. It prioritizes the long-term health of the planet and its people. Learn more about how we practice regenerative agriculture here at LEAF.

From Farm to Food Bank

Access to fresh, healthy produce should not be a privilege. Yet, approximately 14% of Bay Area households experience food insecurity. That’s why we use regenerative agricultural practices to grow and share nutritious produce locally.

We use our 1.3-acre LEAF Urban Farm and the LEAF Community Garden to grow seasonal, regional, and culturally relevant produce.

One to two times per week, our volunteers harvest, weigh, and deliver produce directly to our local food bank partners.

Produce arrives at Tri-City Volunteers (TCV) in Fremont (2.6 miles away) and Daily Bowl, who pass it to Centro De Servicios in Union City (3.8 miles away) - it doesn't get any fresher than that!

"The partnership with LEAF has been invaluable—it allows us to connect farm-fresh produce with local food banks who need it. It’s not just about food; it’s about dignity, health, and showing that our community cares."

-Paddy Iyer, Executive Director, Daily Bowl

Access to Growing Space

Many of our community members don’t have access to a yard or space to grow their own fruits and vegetables. The LEAF Community Garden offers forty 4'x12' raised planters to rent, each filled with customized, nutritious soil and equipped with an automatic irrigation system.

Your Produce

Through our Fruit Tree Gleaning program, community members can share surplus fruit from their trees, helping redirect local abundance to food banks and neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

Seedling Sale

Our annual Spring seedling sale offers a wide variety of organically grown vegetables from the LEAF Urban Farm. We work closely with community members and food bank partners to grow culturally relevant crops that reflect the diverse food traditions of the Tri-City area. Sign up for our newsletter to get notified about the next upcoming sale!
