2026 is truly the year where we, at LEAF, focus on Cultivating Minds. After kicking off two educational partnerships with Stanford and Ohlone College at the beginning of the year (see January newsletter), we’re excited to share two additional new partnerships that are very dear to our hearts:

Happy 2026! We hope 2026 has started well for you. It’s been an eventful first month here at LEAF, with two new exciting educational partnerships in the works:

This year, we brought school field trips back to the LEAF Urban Farm. One of our favorite moments was watching a class of 3rd graders step off the bus and instantly scatter toward the planter beds, the worm bins, and the pollinator plants. Within minutes, science was something they could touch, smell, and explore.

A couple of weeks ago, we had the pleasure of welcoming the incredible team from StopWaste to the LEAF Urban Farm for their staff volunteer day! Their team helped us with weeding, mulching garden pathways, and building new raised bed planters for our newly expanded LEAF Urban Farm. This event is part of an ongoing collaboration with StopWaste to educate our community about composting, vermiculture, and diverting organic waste from landfills.

On September 10th, we celebrated the expansion of our LEAF Urban Farm with Grow Together! The fundraiser brought together over 70 community leaders, partners, neighbors, volunteers, and supporters for an inspiring evening of connection and celebration...

We are super excited about the progress already made on our Education Garden – one half of our new extended area at the LEAF Urban Farm.
